Collaboration with Eve Haberman
In this performance, we are exploring the role of the oppressed and the oppressor. Using the pomegranate as a symbol of love, beauty, sanctity, and female sexuality.
I was carefully peeling a pomegranate with love and patience to get every seed out, while Eve interuppeted me and this proces. Eve was pulverising the pomegranate seeds, getting the juices everywhere, also on me. Throwing the pomegranate everywhere. Distracting and disrespecting me by pulling my hair and ripping my clothes. While I did everything to stay focussed on my task and pretend nothing was happing. The performance came to an end when all the pomegranates where peeled and Eve didn’t have any engergy and anything left to interrupt. At the end the performance beautiful traces were left on the paper, creating an artwork on its own.
